Our Story

ShieldPoint Insurance was founded in Chicago in 2015 by a team of insurance veterans and technology builders who were tired of the same answer to every question: 'Call your agent.' We believed — and still believe — that policyholders deserve clear information, fast service, and coverage that actually makes sense for their lives.

Since then, we've grown to serve more than 180,000 policyholders across 38 states. We're licensed, regulated, and proud of it. Our AM Best financial strength rating of A- reflects the soundness of our underwriting and our commitment to paying claims.

Our Mission

To make insurance genuinely useful for people who don't want to spend their weekends thinking about insurance. We do that by keeping our products simple, our pricing transparent, and our claims process human.

Being digital-first doesn't mean we replaced people with bots. It means we invested in technology so our team can spend more time on the things that actually require a human — complex claims, tricky underwriting questions, and making sure you understand your policy before you need it.
